Update 1: Foundations


I have released the first of 3 planned major updates for Private Military Company which I am calling "Foundations".

The focus of this update is to bring in all of the most needed polish into the game. The game should now feel much more intuitive, and feel a lot better to play overall.

I have also added a bit of content, as well as fixing a bug that caused a single bullet to damage multiple enemies at the same time. This has changed the feel of the game quite a bit, and you might notice that it is slightly more difficult.


Here is the plan for the next 2 major updates:

Update 2: Gameplay

  • Focused on fine tuning gameplay mechanics. Particularly in reducing frustration & increasing depth

Update 3: Content

  • Focused on bringing a large amount of content to the game as well as another large amount of polish. Will also add a tutorial / intro


This update contains a ton of changes, so I am sure to miss some.

Changelog:

  • Button to cancel tower selection
  • Pausing money income when waves are paused
  • Much smarter enemy targeting with full player control
  • Range indicators when placing & managing units
  • Unit ammo counter & reload indicator + sfx
  • Fix bullets hitting multiple enemies
  • Enemy hit / death particles & sfx
  • Maximum amount of hired units
  • Hover effect for clickable items in game
  • Tower placement ghost now matches its actual sprite
  • New UI art & colour
  • In game display for unit stats
  • Ability to manage/upgrade units in base
