Secret Bonus FINAL Itch Update
After combing through various feedback and lots of brainstorming, I have decided to rework some mechanics in an effort to address some of the biggest flaws in the gameplay loop.
I know, I said Update 3 was the final Itch update. This is the LAST itch update, for real this time. I would like to get some feedback on the new changes, to make sure I am going in the right direction.
Since I will no longer be posting to Itch, if you want to try new builds of the game before anyone else and provide direct feedback, please join the Discord.
And as a bonus, I have included a save system! This was intended only for the steam demo, but it works on the web build, so enjoy!
Here is what was reworked:
- Mercenaries have been replaced with Turrets & Drones
- Cost ore instead of money to purchase & upgrade
- Drones are more expensive & less powerful, but follow enemies across the map.
- Ore mining rework
- Ore can no longer be sold during contracts. Instead, it can be used to purchase additional defenses and temporary upgrades.
- Extra saved ore still gives bonus money at the end of a contract, just much less than before
- Mining upgrades now cost ore instead of money
- Soldiers are now much more expensive, and price now increases more for better stats.
